While working as a web and graphic designer Portland Public Schools I've made significant changes. The website is one of the biggest changes, here are screenshots of the website our team created and the layout it replaced.
The previous website was very cluttered and originally was designed in the 90s. The reoccurring issue that kept popping up was that important people throughout the district would declare that a current event or program is essential for everyone to notice right away upon landing on the website. Thus, there were colorful new buttons constantly popping up. The new website was more than a design rehaul, we also established rules to prevent the chaos that reigned our previous website. A steering committee was formed, for example, and they met up once a month to filter through and decide what should show up on the main page.
